Time Warp

There is something about Abby today.

Naturally highlighted hair hanging to her waist, long denim-clad legs, and a summer tan still lingering on her arms make her seem much older than her three years.

Dancing and singing to a rhythm that only she hears, she is radiant.

I feel like time has sped up and frozen all at once and I have been given a glimpse of the woman she will become.

A sudden fit of giggles and a request for peanut butter break the spell and she becomes my little girl again.

Do all parents have these moments?

Yes. But sometimes the glimpses work in reverse and we see the child that once was, instead of the woman of today.
